Power of the Purse: Celebrating Women Doing Business Luncheon March 8, 2013

Arizona’s Women-Owned Business Enterprises are part of a vibrant, ongoing demographic and economic transformation occurring across the Southwest and nationwide. The number of minority-owned businesses in the U.S. totaled about 5.8 million in 2007, reflecting a 46 percent jump over 2002, a growth rate more than three times faster than businesses owned by whites, according to the U.S. Census. Latino-owned business, meanwhile, are estimated to have topped 3.2 million nationwide.
On March 8, 2013, we will release the 2013 Arizona Women-owned Business Enterprise Report, as part of the 2nd Annual Power of the Purse: Celebrating Women Doing Business Luncheon at the Downtown Hyatt.

Black & White Ball and Business Awards April 27, 2013

Please join us on Saturday, April 27, 2013 for the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 55th Annual Black & White Ball and Business Awards presented by Cox Communications. The formal gala is the longest running event of its kind and this year we are expecting another “sold out” crowd which will be hosted by our celebrity emcee, Marco Antonio Regil. The Gala features an elegant dinner, entertainment, and the presentation of the prestigious Business Awards and Legacy Award. Our 2013 Award winners are:

DATOS: Focus on the Hispanic Market Luncheon Fall 2013

This year we will release DATOS: Focus on the Hispanic Market, the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 17th annual report on the latest economic trends shaping the Hispanic market in Arizona and nationwide. DATOS is compiled by an editorial team of experts on consumer and economic trends led by Dr. Loui Olivas, professor emeritus at Arizona State University.
The trends highlighted in DATOS speak to a new and vibrant socio-economic paradigm with far-reaching implications for the multicultural consumer and entrepreneurial marketplace across the state and nationwide. Local business leaders and public policy makers directing economic development can utilize the information to help shape future business plans.

Minority Business Enterprise [MBE] Summit Luncheon Fall 2013

The Phoenix MBDA Business Center and the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Arizona Minority Business Enterprise Summit (formerly MED week) in the fall of 2013.
The event spotlights the growing contributions of minority-owned businesses in Arizona. Major components include the presentation of the annual Phoenix Minority Business Enterprise Awards and the inductions of local companies into the Arizona Million Dollar Circle of Excellence [AZMDCE]. The AZMDCE is a recognition of companies that do at least $1 million of business with minority-owned suppliers.
