Upcoming events demonstrate AZHCC’s growing momentum

Comercio — March 2005

Israel Torres Where does the time go? March is upon us, MLB spring training has begun and it’s time to put our premier event on your calendars. On April 23, the AZHCC will host its 47th Annual Black and White Ball and Annual Business Awards presented by Qwest. In its 47th year, the Black and White Ball celebrates and recognizes our accomplishments as a business community and now with the awards, honors those who have contributed so much to this success. Dust off your dancing shoes because we expect this to be yet another exciting and fun-filled evening, with well over 1,000 people in attendance.

An event of this magnitude is the result of broad support and hard work. My sincere thanks goes out to Qwest, this year’s El Padrino sponsor, as well as Padrinos de Honor sponsors Wells Fargo Bank, American Family Insurance, City of Phoenix Aviation Department and Arizona Public Service. Additionally, Southwest Airlines is sponsoring the Silent Auction and Molina Fine Jewelers is the Raffle Padrino sponsor this year. For more information about sponsorship opportunities and table purchases, visit www.azhcc.com.

Equally important, none of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of the Black and White Ball Committee, led by co-chairs Alex Juarez of Qwest and Sonya Pastor of S.R. Beard & Associates. The board of directors and members tip their hats to both of you and the entire committee for taking the lead in making this year s ball a memorable and successful one.

In addition to this signature event, the monthly Contactos After 5 Mixers provide a great opportunity for current members to network and build business contacts. The next Contactos, co-hosted by the Phoenix Zoo and Artisian Catering, will be held March 24 at 5:30. Check the website for more information. Bring some business cards and I’ll see you there!

Also, as a friendly reminder, please don’t forget that when you’re out and about shopping or dining, or buying goods and services for your own business, keep in mind to do business with your fellow AZHCC members whenever possible.

Remember, this is YOUR chamber. Join a committee, come to the events, visit the office, refer a business, get in the game!

Have a great month,

Israel G. Torres
Chairman of the Board
