Message from Israel G. Torres, Chairman of the Board

Greetings, Chamber members!

Israel Torres So far, this fall has been an exciting one for our chamber. The El Torneo Golf Tournament in September was highly successful and enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who planned, volunteered and participated in the event!

DATOS, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, once again provided timely and insightful information about Arizona's Hispanic market. From this data, it is plain to see that the expansion and increased influence of our state's Latino consumers will result in more opportunities for small businesses in the areas of start-ups, marketing and employment.

Events like DATOS do not occur without the tireless work and leadership of many dedicated volunteers and a world-class sponsor. SRP, this year's signature sponsor, enabled us to present the best DATOS to date, and we truly appreciate this partnership. I also would like to particularly thank DATOS Co-Chairs Gema Duarte Luna, Max Gonzales and Gonzalo de la Melena. An excellent job was done by all!

And let's not forget that on Nov. 17, the AZHCC will celebrate the Hispanic 500, along with Wells Fargo, our generous sponsor. Twelve Latino-owned companies in Arizona have been named in Hispanic Business Magazine's illustrious list this year, and we look forward to recognizing them next month.

Finally, board of directors elections are happening and I encourage you all to get involved and cast your ballots that will select our leadership for the upcoming year.

As the chamber gears up to complete another successful year, consider joining a committee, attending events and getting your colleagues involved. Remember, this is YOUR chamber - looking forward to seeing you at the next AZHCC event!
