Phoenix, AZ — The Arizona Minority Business Development Center (AMBDC) today named Roy B. Laos as its new project director. Laos replaces Isauro “Izzy” Gonzales who recently left the AMBDC for a position with US Bank.
Laos’s career experience includes working in the mortgage and realty industry in addition to having his own company in Tucson specializing in advertising, media, public and community relations. Most recently, Laos’s company, RBL Diversified L.L.C. provided contracted consulting in the areas of venture capital and small business.
“Increasing Arizona’s minority business development, creating new jobs, and expanding the resources of the AMBDC throughout the state are my primary goals as the new director, all of which will be accomplished through a team effort with my staff,” said Laos.
“After an extensive search to find the right person for this position, we feel very confident that Mr. Laos is the most qualified fit for the AMBDC at this time,” said Harry Garewal, President and CEO of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (AZHCC).
“Roy’s experience and his credentials make him a logical choice as project director and I look forward to working closely with him to further the common goals of both organizations.”
The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (AZHCCF) is the fiduciary agent of the AMBDC and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the organization through a grant from the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
