PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (AZHCC) has elected three ex-officio members to its board of directors. Don Rosalez of Flagstaff, Sam Rodriguez of Dewey and Dr. Marcy Varona of Nogales were named to the board by the board of directors of the AZHCC.

"In order to further develop Arizona's small business agenda and create opportunities for all, it is critical that we include the perspectives of business and community leaders throughout the state," said Israel G. Torres, AZHCC Board Chairman.

"The Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will greatly benefit from the insight, experience and skills of these outstanding individuals."

"In our attempt to truly be a statewide organization, we have reached out to other communities across Arizona to find qualified board members who will represent their respective cities and the needs of their local business community," said Harry Garewal, President and CEO.

Don Rosalez is chairman of the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Board and since 1989 he has been the president and owner of M.A.S. Group, an established financial planning business serving the communities of Flagstaff as well as the Hopi and Navajo Reservations.

Sam Rodriguez is currently the president of the Tri-City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce which serves Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley. Rodriguez has his own Farmers Insurance Agency in Dewey where he serves the entire Prescott area.

Dr. Marcy Varona is president of the Board of Directors and volunteer executive director of the Nogales/Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce, where he has been involved with that chamber for five years. He is retired from the Nogales Unified School District where he served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and assistant superintendent.

The ex-officio members bring the total number of board members to 22. According to the AZHCC bylaws, ex-officio members are non-voting members of the board of directors.
