A Message from the President and CEO
As you read this message, the staff of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (AZHCC) is in full swing planning our lineup of events for the Fall including the Minority Enterprise Development Breakfast scheduled for September 14, 2004 at the Phoenix Civic Plaza. The Hispanic chamber will host this wonderful event celebrating the diversity of minority business owners and entrepreneurs. Once again, we will be honoring businesses in the categories of retail, manufacturing, services, supplier/distributor, construction, technology, individual minority advocate and corporate minority advocate. In addition to the awards breakfast, the Grand Canyon Minority Supplier Development Council will present the Minority Business Showcase. Also scheduled for the afternoon is the Hispanic Business Symposium.
You’ll also want to start making plans to attend DATOS 2004, scheduled for October 12 at the Arizona Biltmore. This annual breakfast program presents the latest statistics and trends on the Hispanic market from a national and local perspective. The breakfast falls a day before the Presidential debate at Arizona State University. The eyes and ears of the world will be focused on Arizona. The DATOS program will provide a nice backdrop to the influence of Hispanic consumers, business owners, entrepreneurs and most importantly, voters.
If you’re looking for an event that’s just around the corner, then please plan on attending the National Council of La Raza conference on June 26-29, 2004 also at the Phoenix Civic Plaza. The AZHCC is proud to be part of the host planning committee for this conference. This event will provide workshops and guest speakers on topics that are of interest to the Latino population. More than 25,000 people are expected to go through the workshops and the Expo. For more information on this event, please look for the article in this issue of Comercio or click on the NCLR resource link on our website at www.azhcc.com. Hay nos vemos!
