Happy New Year!

As we embark into 2005, I am both energized and humbled by my appointment as AZHCC Chairman of the Board, and look forward to the 12 months that lie ahead.

These are exciting times for all business organizations, ours in particular. As the national and state economies begin to expand, small businesses will become more vibrant and strong. This improved business development climate is accompanied by renewed challenges and needs for small businesses more training opportunities to remain competitive, new partnerships in both the public and private sectors, and innovative opportunities to be explored. I envision AZHCC being an important part of that.

With your continued involvement, the leadership of our board, and the expertise of our outstanding AZHCC staff, I am confident that 2005 will be one characterized by enthusiasm, accomplishment, and a pioneering spirit.

I again want to highlight the efforts of our outgoing Chair, Mr. Al Montoya. I have learned much under his leadership and can’t underscore enough his sense of integrity, determination, and resolve. His steady hand has provided consensus building and teamwork to empower not only our board, but our entire membership with true purpose and involvement. I look forward to his continued guidance and insight as we strive to continue the momentum from 2004 and move our chamber forward.

Again, thank you for the confidence placed in me to help facilitate our organization’s goals and purpose. As a past AZHCC employee, board member, Vice-Chair and now, as Chairman, I look forward to working with all our membership to achieve our objectives. Throughout this year, I will continue to update you on our endeavors and will ask for your guidance and assistance as we continue to take AZHCC to new heights.
